Attended my cousin's wedding yesterday! She finally got married to her uni sweetheart. Went to my aunt's house at Telok Kurau in the late morning. The newlyweds came back at around noon and went through the tea ceremony. Plus they fed each other mian xian, coz it's supposed to represent everlasting love or sth. (I thought it represents longevity? hmm..) Then we took photos with the couple. After that is the lunch buffet! Then everyone went back to prepare for the wedding dinner in the evening.
Spent the afternoon trying to do some work, although I didnt accomplish much except read up on the marketing topics for tutorial. Then it was time to go to the wedding! It's held at the Shangri La Hotel at Orchard Road. By the time we reached there it was around 7pm. But, we didnt get to go into the ballroom till around 830pm coz of some carpark delay. Many guests couldnt find any space to park their cars.
The ballroom was fabulous! They were really successful in creating the romantic atmosphere suited for a wedding, with the candles and rose petals and lightings. Before the bride and groom made their entrance, we were shown a video montage of their childhood photos, photos of their 1st date and those from later years, and their wedding preparation photos. It was v sweet! There was also live music provided, meaning there was a wedding singer accompanied by a pianist and guitarist who provided us with music entertainment throughout the night.
The dishes took quite long to be served though. The interval between each dish could drag as long as 15 minutes. -_-. By the time we had our last dish , it was about 11.30pm.
Anyway, it was a nice experience.=) I cant wait for my bro's wedding to come!
